OUR VENUE
Our venue space for hire consists of three areas. Our ground floor, first floor and our lower ground floor Makers Space, also known as the Crypt.
Our 13th century Crypt is one of only a few remaining of its age and condition and is thought to have been constructed around 1230. Originally used for storage of merchant goods as an undercroft to a property, today it houses our creative Makers Space where we run art and craft workshops.
Having lots of area to utilise we work with our private event customers to agree which spaces are required and how they should be utilised, for example we could use the first floor for after drinks or pre-drinks or for dining and use the crypt space as a dance floor.
During events we make the venue feel special with dimmed lights, fairy lights and candles.
Daytime events mainly use the Crypt as it’s semi private and allows us to continue to operate the rest of the venue.
When we utilise the Crypt for dining, we can install a long table down the length of the Crypt which is able to accommodate up to 34 people. If you are looking to host an event with more than 34 we can reconfigure our first floor to host up to 50 people.
The venue includes old printing equipment and furniture which adds to the unique charm of the venue.
EVENTS
As a creative organisation we love having to host events.
We can tailor our offer to suit you and can support you with as much of the organisation as you need, for example we can provide styling using our stylist partners, organise bands or DJs, provide art materials or teaching as part of the event.

EVENTS WITH CATERING
As well as offering our space for private hire by businesses for events, we are also able to provide unique private dining experiences, perfect for weddings, business functions, occasions and celebrations.
Set Menus
For events with formal dining of 12 to 34 people we can work with you to establish a set menu for your event.
Buffets, Small Plates or Canapés
Not wanting a formal dining experience for your party or occasion in Chester? we can work with you to create exciting buffet spreads, small plates or canapés. Buffet prices start from £17.95 per head including unlimited tea and filter coffee.
Afternoon Tea
For up to 15 people we can cater with afternoon tea at £24.95 per head including a barista drink on arrival for each guest and unlimited tea, filter coffee and orange juice. Our afternoon teas are large, more interesting and special than you would typically find elsewhere; and your guests will probably end up taking some home.
Breakfast
We can cater for breakfast business meetings and events at our venue with drinks and breakfast brioche packages and depending on the order size and location we can also deliver our breakfast brioches to another venue of your choosing.

Every event we host is unique so although we provide a guide below we welcome the opportunity of a consultation with you prior to booking.
LARGE GROUP BOOKINGS
Wanting to make a large group booking that isn’t a privately catered event?
We have the space to host large groups during our normal trading hours. We don’t take group bookings for less than 8 but do ask to avoid disappointment that groups larger than 8 pre-book with us and pay a deposit to secure their table.

Here is an example of a set menu for a recent baby shower we hosted, which didn’t require a vegan option.
We can work with you to create a set menu to suit your event.
If a set menu doesn’t suit you we can also cater with buffets, afternoon teas, small plates, pizzas, canapes and other forms of catering.

Sticky maple glazed salmon fillet, Mediterranean couscous, vegetables.

Mojo verde rump steak, crispy potatoes, vegetables.
Jeera Aloo Sweet Potato (V)
Cumin spiced sweet potato rosti, tikka sauce, baby leeks, yogurt dessing.
Desserts
Cheesecake (V)
Cheesecake. chantilly cream and raspberry sherbet.
Chocolate, Hazelnut & Parline Torte (N)(V)(GF)
Chocolate and hazelnut torte, topped with a rich chocolate hazelnut praline ganache and sprinkled with candied and smashed hazelnuts.
Carrot Cake (N)
Lightly spiced carrot and orange sponge, with sultanas, coconut, and large walnut pieces throughout.
FEEDBACK
ALCOHOL PACKAGES
Alcohol packages are optional and your attendees will be able to order and pay, or order to a tab throughout the event if you want this facility.
Our packages offer at least a 10% discount on our prices when ordered at the time of booking.
We have a trained sommeliers in our organisation so we can offer a wine flight with your selected menu.

The information we provide on this page is hopefully a helpful guide. We recommend prior to booking that we meet at the venue for a consultation, however we recognise that this isn’t always practicable if the event is for people visiting Chester, so we are also able to hold telephone or virtual consultations over Teams or Zoom.

STEP 2
AGREE YOUR BOOKING
After we have understood your requirements we will provide you with an initial quotation.
We will update the quote to reflect any last changes or decisions you make and provide you with a final quote requesting your agreement.
STEP 3
MAKE A DEPOSIT
The structure of deposit needed is dependent on how advance the booking is.
No booking is complete until a deposit has been made.
Any quotation we provide will include the deposit amounts and once we have agreed the booking with you invoices for deposits will be provided.
